You can use Alarm Mate as a guest. Tap “Continue without an account” on the first screen and you can set alarms, play every wake-up mission, earn XP and streaks, and purchase Premium without giving us your email address, your name, or any other personal information.
We still keep a record for you, so that your alarms and your progress survive between sessions. That record holds:
We do not collect your email address, name, phone number or contacts while you use the app as a guest.
Features that involve other people — buddy matching, wake-together invitations, and communities — need an account, because another person has to be able to find you and see who they are waking up with. You can create an account at any time from Settings. When you do, your guest record and everything in it, including Premium, moves to that account and keeps the same identifier.
A guest record lives on one device only. Because there is no email address or password attached to it, we have no way to identify you if you delete the app or move to another device, and the record cannot be recovered. Creating an account is what makes your data recoverable. You can delete a guest record from within the app at any time, from Settings, in the same way as a registered account.
We use your information to:
Some wake-up missions use your device camera: push-ups, squats, one-leg balance, walking, the wake selfie, Sky Photo, Color Hunt and Object Hunt, and Brush Your Teeth shows a mirror preview when camera access is already granted. Camera frames for these missions are analyzed on your device only, in real time, to check that the mission was completed. They are never uploaded to our servers.
Photos and short videos captured during a mission (for example your wake selfie, a Sky Photo, or a recording of your push-ups) stay on your device and are uploaded only if you choose to share them on the Mornings feed or with your buddy. Shared photos are checked by an automated safety service before other users can see them.
We share limited information with your matches:

When no real user is available to match with you at your alarm time, Alarm Mate may pair you with a Morning Crew member. Morning Crew is a set of pre-defined characters with automated messages selected based on the context of your chat. Morning Crew members are not real people and are clearly distinguished by a subtle visual marker on their profile.
Your messages sent during a Morning Crew chat are stored in our database in the same way as messages to real users, and are subject to the same privacy and retention policies described here. These messages are not transmitted to any third-party AI service.
If you directly ask a Morning Crew member whether they are a real person, they will always answer honestly. You can also identify Morning Crew members by the subtle sparkle pattern around their profile avatar.
To keep Alarm Mate safe, our team reviews content that is reported by users or flagged by automated systems (including photos, posts, and chat messages tied to a report). We may remove content, restrict social features, or suspend accounts that violate our guidelines. Moderation records are kept for up to 12 months after a report is closed, then deleted. We process this data to fulfil our safety obligations and legitimate interest in protecting our community.
“Let a friend pick” links. When you share a pick link, anyone who has the link can open a web page that shows your first name and alarm time and lets them choose your wake-up mission, with no account. A friend can type a name there, and that name is shown to you. To stop the same browser from voting twice, the page keeps a random voter ID in that browser’s local storage. Link data, including votes and the names friends typed, is deleted automatically about a week after the alarm the link was made for, and right away when you delete your account.
