How it works
- 1
Set your hold time when you add the mission, anywhere from ten to sixty seconds.
- 2
When it rings, stand where the front camera can see you from the hips down and lift one foot.
- 3
The timer runs while you hold it. Reach your number and the alarm cuts out.
You set 10 to 60 seconds of hold, in steps of 5
Why it works
Balance is the first thing sleep takes away and the first thing that comes back. Try standing on one leg thirty seconds after waking up and you will feel a part of your brain switch on that a math puzzle never touches. It is proprioception, the sense of where your body is, and it needs you to actually be present.
The camera watches your hips and ankles through Apple’s body pose detection and works out whether one foot is genuinely off the floor, using the height gap between your ankles measured against your leg length. No wearable, no floor mat, just a phone propped where it can see you from the waist down.
The forgiveness rules matter more than the detection, and they were tuned by people falling over in a bedroom at dawn. A quick stumble where the foot brushes the carpet is a wobble: the clock pauses and nothing is lost. Two full seconds down is a break and the hold goes back to zero. Stepping out of frame for two and a half seconds does the same. Your best hold of the session survives all of it and gets shown at the end, which is a small mercy on a bad morning. Ten seconds sounds like nothing until you try it with one eye open, and sixty is a real ask even wide awake. There is a ceiling at three minutes, and hitting it gets you a retry or a different mission, never a silent phone.
FAQ
One-Leg Balance, answered.
Does the timer reset every time I wobble?
No. A brief touch down is forgiven and just pauses the clock. Two full seconds with both feet on the floor is what counts as a break, and that sends the current hold back to zero.
Can I swap legs halfway?
Only for a moment. Switching to the other leg for more than about half a second reads as a restart, so pick a leg and commit to the consequences.
How high do I have to lift my foot?
Far enough to be obvious, roughly fifteen percent of your leg length. A foot hovering a centimetre off the carpet reads as standing on both.
What if I really can't balance this morning?
There is a three minute ceiling, and it does not hand you a free dismiss. You get the choice of trying again or switching to a different mission, and the alarm keeps ringing until one of them lands.

Pick as many as you like.
When the alarm rings, one of the missions you picked fires, chosen at random. Finish it and the alarm stops on the spot.
